Shudayra Finished Up

My local doll club had a stash swap and in the pile was this mound of curly copper hair. I had Shudayra with me and she kept nudging me and telling me to go check it out. We tried it on her and all the women agreed it was definitely her.

Her feet were just begging to be beaded. : ) Would have loved to make spiky heels for her but ran out of time before I could figure it out.

Made her a healing hand charm with a heart to go in her charm bag.
For her journal I made a page for her charm. Used my hand as a print and then used copper foil on it.

And last but not least, I painted her portrait for her journal as well.

Shudayra

This is MA's doll for the Coolaberation. Her name is Shudayra. From the moment she arrived, she has been sending me vibes to give her a face. So I did.

Dead Parrot Sketch

Working on this stupid parrot has continually reminded me of Monty Python's Dead Parrot Sketch. Polly is such a bedraggled parrot.

And for your enjoyment...

Coolaberation 2009 - Persia the Pirate Princess

Persia is very particular and looks nothing at all like I had planned for her. As you can see, She is really into jewels. Why else would she be a pirate? She still has some time with me so I may do more. There are so many tings a pirate needs...
  1. hair
  2. a hook for a hand
  3. more jewels
  4. a map
  5. treasure chest
  6. cool clothes
  7. a parrot
  8. The list goes on...

Coolaberation 2009

Today is the official start of the "Coolaberation 2009." There will be nine artists involved. Here is my doll, The Queen of Hearts." Along with the doll, each doll has a journal. The first entry is either ten words or less to describe how you want your doll to be or a quote. I chose:

"I am an acquired taste, like anchovies.
Not everyone likes those hairy little things.
If I were more like potato chip I'd be everywhere." -Tori Amos.
